Juno is a pet working breed which leaves me trying to keep up with his physical and mental needs. Puzzles and walks are great but can be expensive so another way I entertain and challenge him is by hiding treats and toys in cardboard!
The reason I have used cardboard/recycling/biodegradable items is due to the fast that he does shred them up and so any small pieces I miss when cleaning up will be gone in a couple rains and I don't have to worry about littering! And please be careful that no bits get consumed, you do want to supervise your pet whilst they're tearing their treats and not eating it.
Now you do want to keep track of how much food you're giving your pup. In the first clip I have filled up the paper towel roll with training treats from Savour-life.com.au which he adores, but I made sure this was all he got for the day and didn't over feed him on treats.
The second clip I have used just a sprinkle of his kibble which won't affect his diet much and I know what he's eating is safe and healthy.
The last clip I decided to use Juno's favourite ball a) because the box was really big! but also b) Juno had already had dinner and treats that day and I did not want to over fill him.
Taping up the shoe box was such a great choice as Juno really had to think to get the reward, it may not look like much but it's really great for their mind!
